Title 16 › Chapter CHAPTER 6— - GAME AND BIRD PRESERVES; PROTECTION › § 678
If the Agriculture Secretary recommends it, the Interior Secretary can transfer up to 1,600 acres of non‑mineral national forest land in the Norbeck Wildlife Preserve to South Dakota, if that land isn’t already set aside. South Dakota must give the United States clear title to other state lands of equal value inside a South Dakota national forest that the Agriculture Secretary approves; those lands become part of the national forest. Other state land‑selection rights stay the same, except for the specific lands the State transfers.
