§6804a Availability of Federal, State, and local recreation passes

Title 16 › Chapter CHAPTER 87— - FEDERAL LANDS RECREATION ENHANCEMENT › § 6804a

Last updated Apr 6, 2026|Official source

Summary

Encourage the Secretaries to work with States and counties so someone can buy a Federal pass, a State pass, and a local pass in one single transaction. Covered passes include the America the Beautiful national parks and federal lands pass (see section 6804) and any State or county passes that cover entrance or recreation fees at participating sites. After talking with States and counties, the Secretaries may make agreements to do this. The agreements must send State or local pass money to the right State agency or county, send Federal pass money to the right Federal agency, and complete those transfers by the end of a fiscal year for all sales in that year.
