Anyone 16 years or older must carry a valid Migratory Bird Hunting and Conservation Stamp to take migratory waterfowl. The stamp can be electronic or a physical stamp signed in ink across its face before taking. No stamp is needed for federal or state agencies, for propagation, for landowners/tenants/sharecroppers or designated Interior agencies removing birds that damage property under rules, or for rural Alaska residents for subsistence. The stamp must be shown if asked by Department of the Interior enforcement officers or state game-law officers. The stamp does not have to be attached to another license before taking 1 or more migratory waterfowl.
