Title 16 › Chapter CHAPTER 9A— - PRESERVATION OF FISHERY RESOURCES › § 758c
Authorizes the government to spend whatever money is needed to build and equip a fishery research laboratory, experiment stations, and substations in Hawaii, plus docks and storehouses. It also pays to buy, modify, refit, and outfit two experimental high-seas fishing vessels and one multipurpose high‑seas fishing and oceanographic research vessel, including naval architecture and engineering work. No funds may be used to buy land for the sites in Hawaii. Up to three surplus government vessels may be transferred at no cost to the Secretary of Commerce for conversion and use in oceanographic and biological research and exploratory fishing.
