Title 16 › Chapter CHAPTER 9A— - PRESERVATION OF FISHERY RESOURCES › § 760d
The Secretary of Commerce may give grants to public and nonprofit colleges and universities in the States and Territories. The money is for programs that train professionally skilled workers for commercial fishing, like scientists, technicians, and teachers. Up to $550,000 may be provided for the fiscal year starting July 1, 1955, and for each year after. The Secretary must divide the funds fairly among States and Territories, considering each area’s fishing industry and other relevant factors. The Secretary can make rules needed to run the program.
