Title 16 › Chapter CHAPTER 96— - NORTH PACIFIC FISHERIES CONVENTION › § 7707
Lets the Secretary work with federal agencies, U.S. or foreign public or private groups, and authorized officials of countries in the North Pacific Fisheries Convention to carry out duties under that Convention. Federal agencies may help when the Secretary asks by running scientific programs and lending staff and facilities to help the Commission. The Secretary or the Commission may (1) run or allow fishing and biological tests at any time for science and (2) carry out other duties the Convention requires. Nothing here changes a State’s authority in the U.S. territorial sea.
