Title 16 › Chapter CHAPTER 1— - NATIONAL PARKS, MILITARY PARKS, MONUMENTS, AND SEASHORES › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER IX— - COLONIAL NATIONAL HISTORICAL PARK › § 81m
Lets the Secretary of the Interior trade pieces of land to better protect historic places in Colonial National Historical Park and to change the park’s boundaries. Land taken out of the park this way cannot be put back except by an act of Congress. The Secretary can accept privately owned land inside the park and give other park land to the owners in return. If the lands are about the same value, no money changes hands. If not, the Secretary or the owner must pay the difference. The Secretary can use National Park land-acquisition funds, set the exact terms, credit the value of any houses, help remove buildings, and help find housing for people who must move.
