The Secretaries of the Interior and the Army may plan, design, build, operate, and maintain new generation, upgrades, and replacements at their federal power projects in the Pacific Northwest as defined in the Northwest Power Act. They may do this only for projects each Secretary finds needed and that the Bonneville Power Administrator later also finds needed. They may use money the Bonneville Power Administrator provides for those projects without needing new appropriations and with no fiscal year limit. Each Secretary may accept and use those funds, which are exempt from sequestration under section 905(g)(1) of Title 2. This does not change the Northwest Power Act. Effective October 1, 1993.
