Defines key words used in this part. An accessible trail is a trail built to the standards in the Architectural Barriers Act accessibility guidelines (appendices C and D to part 1191 of title 36, Code of Federal Regulations, or successor rules). “Architectural Barriers Act accessibility guidelines” refers to those appendices. Assistive technology is equipment or products that help people with disabilities take part in outdoor recreation. A Gold Star Family member is a person described in section 3.3 of Department of Defense Instruction 1348.36. An outdoor constructed feature has the meaning given in appendix C to part 1191 of title 36, Code of Federal Regulations (or successor rules). A veterans organization is a service provider with outdoor recreation experience that serves members of the Armed Forces, veterans, or Gold Star Family members.
