Title 16 › Chapter CHAPTER 103— - EXPANDING PUBLIC LANDS OUTDOOR RECREATION EXPERIENCES › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER II— - ACCESS AMERICA › Part Part B— - Military and Veterans in Parks › § 8502
By January 4, 2026, the Secretaries and the Secretary of Veterans Affairs must each create a Military Veterans Outdoor Recreation Liaison job inside their departments. Each Liaison must coordinate putting this part into action and carry out the Task Force on Outdoor Recreation for Veterans’ recommendations. That work includes coordinating among VA, Agriculture, Interior, and partner groups to use federal recreational lands and waters for veterans’ health and wellness; fixing barriers that keep veterans from those opportunities; and helping those lands and waters support wellness, health care, and therapy. Liaisons must also work with other agencies and veterans groups and promote new ways to get veterans outdoors.
