Lets owners whose land is bought by the Secretary and was used for farming, as a single-family home, or for a commercial use the Secretary finds compatible keep using and living on the property. They can choose that right to last until the later of the owner’s or spouse’s death or for up to 25 years; it is transferable, but if the use changes the Secretary may end it and must pay the fair market value of the remaining term.
