Title 18 › Part PART I— - CRIMES › Chapter CHAPTER 49— - FUGITIVES FROM JUSTICE › § 1074
If someone travels across state lines or to another country to escape arrest, punishment, or jail after being accused or convicted of trying to burn or blow up or actually burning or blowing up a house, vehicle, public or private building, school, or religious place, or to avoid testifying about that crime, they can be fined, put in jail for up to five years, or both. A federal case can be brought where the original crime was said to happen or where the person was held. That does not stop a state or territory from charging the person under its own laws.
