Breaking certain park rules can lead to jail, fines, or both. If someone breaks rules made under 54 U.S.C. 100751(a), they can be jailed for up to 6 months, fined under federal law, or both, and must pay the court costs. A Department of the Interior worker who is covered by 54 U.S.C. 100737 and knowingly breaks that law or its rules can be jailed for up to 1 year, fined, or both. Anyone who willfully damages or removes a monument, marker, structure, tree, shrub, or plant in a national military park can be jailed 15 days to 1 year and fined at least $10 for each item damaged, or both. People who trespass to hunt, hunt with a gun or dog, or set traps in a national military park can be jailed 5 to 30 days, fined, or both.
