Breaking rules made under chapter 3201 of Title 54 leads to a federal fine and requires you to pay the government’s court costs. Taking, digging up, damaging, or destroying historic or prehistoric ruins, monuments, or other antiquities on federal land without the agency head’s permission can get you jail up to 90 days, a federal fine, or both.
