Title 18 › Part PART II— - CRIMINAL PROCEDURE › Chapter CHAPTER 216— - SPECIAL GRAND JURY › § 3332
Each grand jury must investigate alleged federal crimes that happen in its district. The court or any federal prosecutor can bring those allegations and evidence to the grand jury. If a prosecutor learns about an alleged crime from another person and that person asks, the prosecutor must tell the grand jury about the allegation, name the person, and say what the prosecutor did or recommends. If a special grand jury has more work than it can handle, the district court can order another special grand jury for that district.
