Making, forging, or copying coins or bars that look like U.S. coins over 5 cents, U.S. gold or silver bars, or foreign gold or silver coins used as money in the U.S. is illegal. If you knowingly do this to defraud any person or organization, or try to, you can be fined, imprisoned not more than fifteen years, or both.
