If the person in charge does not go promptly to the destination port, fails to give the vessel/vehicle to customs, disobeys Treasury rules, unloads cargo at the wrong place, or sells or otherwise disposes of the goods, it is a felony. Conviction may bring up to a $1,000 fine, up to five years in prison, and seizure of the vessel/vehicle and its contents.
