The President must send a report to the relevant congressional committees every 180 days, starting 180 days after this subtitle takes effect. The report must describe the reconciliations and verifications done, explain how U.S. importers were picked, list any penalties, note patterns of noncompliance, and point out problems in carrying out and enforcing the rules. The Secretary of Commerce must report every 180 days after June 18, 2008 on any softwood lumber subsidies (including stumpage). The Comptroller General must send two reports: one within 12 months after June 18, 2008 on whether exporting countries follow international agreements with the U.S., and one within 18 months after June 18, 2008 on how effective the reconciliations and verifications were.
