Title 19 › Chapter CHAPTER 11— - IMPORTATION OF PRE-COLUMBIAN MONUMENTAL OR ARCHITECTURAL SCULPTURE OR MURALS › § 2092
Pre-Columbian monumental or architectural sculptures and murals that were exported from their home country after the regulation listing them took effect cannot be brought into the United States unless the government of the country of origin gives a certificate, in a form the Secretary accepts, saying the export did not break that country’s laws. If the importer cannot show that certificate when declaring the item, they must instead show either proof the item left the country on or before the regulation’s effective date, or proof the item is not on the official listed items.
