§3003 Congressional approval of United States accession to the Convention

Title 19 › Chapter CHAPTER 18— - IMPLEMENTATION OF HARMONIZED TARIFF SCHEDULE › § 3003

Last updated Apr 6, 2026|Official source

Summary

Congress approves the United States joining the Convention. The President may accept the Convention’s final official documents for the United States and must send a copy of each one to Congress when it becomes available. If the Convention begins to apply to the United States or this chapter becomes law, that does not create any new private right to sue or other legal remedy unless this chapter or other U.S. laws clearly provide one. The rule in section 2135(a) of this title does not apply to the Convention.
