Title 19 › Chapter CHAPTER 28— - TRADE FACILITATION AND TRADE ENFORCEMENT › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER III— - IMPORT-RELATED PROTECTION OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS › § 4342
The Commissioner must tell people about seized merchandise within 30 business days after a seizure under the law’s seizure provision. The notice must give the same kind of information that Customs gives to copyright owners when it seizes goods for copyright violations. People who were harmed by certain anti‑circumvention parts of the copyright law that led to the seizure can get this notice if they are on a list the Commissioner keeps. The Commissioner must announce the list and any changes to it in the Federal Register. The Secretary of the Treasury had to write rules to carry out these steps by one year after February 24, 2016.
