Title 2 › Chapter CHAPTER 22— - JOHN C. STENNIS CENTER FOR PUBLIC SERVICE TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT › § 1101
Congress explains why it will create a center named for Senator John C. Stennis to train and develop leaders in public service. Senator Stennis served more than 60 years in public roles, including 41 years in the U.S. Senate and top leadership jobs like committee chair and President pro tempore. There is a strong need to encourage outstanding young people to choose public service careers and to offer leadership training for people in state and local government and for those who work for Members of Congress. Creating the center would honor his long service, leadership, and integrity.
