Until changed by law, the House may pay from House accounts to the widow, widower, or heirs of an Architect of the Capitol employee who was on House duty when they died. Payments must be signed by the House Oversight chair, follow that committee’s rules, and not exceed what is paid for a comparable Senate employee.
