§1862 Transfer of funds

Summary

Starting in fiscal year 1997 and every year after, money given to the Architect of the Capitol, including funds for the Botanic Garden, may be moved between the Architect’s accounts. If the money comes from the "house office buildings" fund, the House Appropriations Committee must approve. If it comes from the "senate office buildings" fund, the Senate Appropriations Committee must approve. If it comes from any other fund, both the House and Senate Appropriations Committees must approve.

During fiscal year 1997 and fiscal years thereafter, amounts appropriated to the Architect of the Capitol (including amounts relating to the Botanic Garden) may be transferred among accounts available to the Architect of the Capitol upon the approval of— (1)
(2)the Committee on Appropriations of the Senate, in the case of amounts transferred from the appropriation for Capitol buildings and grounds under the heading “senate office buildings”; and
(3)the Committees on Appropriations of the Senate and the House of Representatives, in the case of amounts transferred from any other appropriation.
