Leftover budget money handled by the Secretary of the Senate or the House Chief Administrative Officer for fiscal year 1955 and later must be taken back on June 30 of the second fiscal year after the year the money was for. Money for July 1–September 30, 1976, and for any fiscal year starting October 1, 1976 or later must be taken back on September 30 of the second fiscal year after that period or year. Any unpaid bills charged to those taken-back amounts or to earlier years must be paid from any current appropriation for the same purpose that is available when payment is made.
