Title 2 › Chapter CHAPTER 47— - CONGRESSIONAL ETHICS › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER I— - GENERAL › § 4702
When a Member of Congress, an elected officer of either House, or certain employees who are covered by the federal post‑employment rules leave their job, the Clerk of the House or the Secretary of the Senate must tell that person the exact start and end dates of the post‑employment bans that apply. The House Clerk must consult the Committee on Standards of Official Conduct before sending the notice. The Clerk or Secretary must also put those notices on their office’s public website. The notices should be posted in a way that, as much as technically possible, people can search, sort, and download them.
