Summary

By January 1, 2008, the Secretary of the Senate must create a free public website that shows Senate travel that must be reported for trips on or after January 1, 2008. The site must have a search tool, use the same categories (by Senator, travel dates, and other common travel details), and post the travel forms filed with the Senate for official travel. The site’s records may be kept online for no more than 4 years after they are received. If the Secretary cannot meet the deadline, the Senate’s Committee on Rules and Administration can give more time. Money may be provided as needed to run the site.
