Sets aside money to pay interns who work in House members' offices. Each member’s office cannot use more than $20,000 from this allowance in any calendar year. The same rules that already govern intern pay from a member’s regular office funds apply here. It also does not change how members may use their regular office funds to pay interns. Intern — the same kind of intern defined in the House intern rules. Member of the House of Representatives — a Representative, or a Delegate or Resident Commissioner to Congress. Congress authorized $8,800,000 for fiscal year 2019, and any money needed for fiscal year 2020 and later.
