Gives the House Sergeant at Arms the same law enforcement powers as a Capitol Police officer, including the ability to carry a firearm, but only if the person meets certain qualifications. The Sergeant at Arms must have at least five years of prior law‑enforcement experience, current firearms certification from the proper federal agency or an equivalent non‑federal body, and any other firearms qualifications that Capitol Police members must meet. The Committee on House Oversight can make rules to put these requirements into practice.
