If the Senate Majority or Minority Leader asks in writing, the Secretary of the Senate must move, during any fiscal year, whatever amount the leader names from the leaders’ salary and office budgets into the Senate contingent fund account called "Miscellaneous Items." Each leader can spend that money for needed expenses and pay bills with vouchers they approve. The Secretary may advance money to cover those expenses.
