When a Senator, a Senate committee, or a Senate office uses money approved by Congress to buy items from the Sergeant at Arms and Doorkeeper that the Sergeant first bought with the Senate’s “miscellaneous items” money, the money paid must be put into the U.S. Treasury and counted for that same “miscellaneous items” appropriation. Sales of used or surplus furniture and equipment are not included.
