Title 20 › Chapter CHAPTER 28— - HIGHER EDUCATION RESOURCES AND STUDENT ASSISTANCE › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER I— - GENERAL PROVISIONS › Part Part E— - Lender and Institution Requirements Relating to Education Loans › § 1019c
Within 180 days after a model disclosure form is created, the Education Department must give every college in the William D. Ford Direct Loan Program a filled-in version for that school. The form must include the same information for Federal Direct Stafford Loans, Federal Direct Unsubsidized Stafford Loans, and Federal Direct PLUS loans made to or for students at that college. Each college must share that information with students or their families. If a college gives a student information about a private education loan, it must give the department’s loan information to that student at the same time. A school may use its own similar form instead of the model form.
