Title 20 › Chapter CHAPTER 42— - HARRY S TRUMAN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS › § 2005
The Foundation may give scholarships to people who show strong promise and plan to work in public service. Winners are called Truman scholars. Awards can last up to four academic years. A scholar may go to any college or university that offers programs to prepare people for public service, as the Foundation decides. Each scholar must have shown a serious intent to enter public service after finishing school. Each school a scholar attends must make reasonable, ongoing efforts to encourage the student to enter public service when they graduate.
