§2006 Selection of scholars

Summary

The Foundation may run, or hire someone to run, a nationwide contest to pick Truman scholars. It must have selection rules that make sure each year every State that has at least one resident applicant who meets the Foundation's minimum criteria gets at least one Truman scholar.

Title 20, §2006

(a)The Foundation is authorized, either directly or by contract, to provide for the conduct of a nationwide competition for the purpose of selecting Truman scholars.
(b)The Foundation shall adopt selection procedures which shall assure that at least one Truman scholar shall be selected each year from each State in which there is at least one resident applicant who meets the minimum criteria established by the Foundation.
