The Secretary can pay grants in parts, give money ahead of time, or pay back costs after they happen. The Secretary can also change grant payments later if too much or too little was paid. If the Secretary or a court finds someone lied, had someone else lie, failed to tell an important fact, or stole grant money and got funds they shouldn’t have, that person must pay the money back. Money repaid goes to the general fund of the Treasury of the United States. Subsection (c) lists these false-statement and misuse actions.
