§77c Museum board

Summary

The board can create an official seal that courts will accept. It can also make its own bylaws, rules, and regulations to run its work. The board may keep working even if some seats are empty, and six members are needed to do official business. The Smithsonian must include in its yearly report to Congress a summary of how the national air and space museum operated, showing all public and private funds the museum received and spent.

Title 20, §77c

(a)The board is authorized to adopt an official seal which shall be judicially noticed and to make such bylaws, rules, and regulations as it deems necessary for the administration of its functions. The board may function notwithstanding vacancies and six members of the board shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business.
(b)The Smithsonian Institution shall include in its annual report of its operations to Congress a statement of the operations of said national air and space museum, including all public and private moneys received and disbursed.
