§80q–15 Authorization of appropriations

Summary

Allows Congress to give money to the Board of Regents to carry out this part, except as covered in sections 80q–5(b)(1)(B), 80q–6, 80q–8, 80q–9, 80q–10, 80q–12, and 80q–13(c)(5). It authorizes $10,000,000 for fiscal year 1990 and whatever amounts are needed in later years. Money provided this way does not expire before the new facilities in section 80q–5 are ready. Those funds can be used for planning, administration, and caring for the National Museum’s collections until the buildings are available.

(a)There is authorized to be appropriated to the Board of Regents to carry out this subchapter (other than as provided in section 80q–5(b)(1)(B), 80q–6, 80q–8, 80q–9, 80q–10, 80q–12, and 80q–13(c)(5) of this title)—
(1)$10,000,000 for fiscal year 1990; and
(2)such sums as may be necessary for each succeeding fiscal year.
(b)Funds appropriated under subsection (a) shall remain available without fiscal year limitation for any period prior to the availability of the facilities to be constructed under section 80q–5 of this title for administrative and planning expenses and for the care and custody of the collections of the National Museum.
