Authorizes $17,000,000 for fiscal year 2004 and whatever amounts are needed later for the Smithsonian, excluding sections 80r–5(b) and 80r–6. Funds stay available until spent and may be used for private-source fundraising for the Museum.

(a)There are authorized to be appropriated to the Smithsonian Institution to carry out this subchapter, other than section 80r–5(b) and 80r–6 of this title—
(1)$17,000,000 for fiscal year 2004; and
(2)such sums as are necessary for each fiscal year thereafter.
(b)Amounts made available under subsection (a) shall remain available until expended.
(c)Amounts appropriated pursuant to the authorization under this section may be used to conduct fundraising in support of the Museum from private sources.
