Title 20 › Chapter CHAPTER 77— - FINANCIAL LITERACY AND EDUCATION IMPROVEMENT › § 9705

Last updated Apr 6, 2026|Official source

Summary

Members must serve without getting extra pay beyond their regular federal officer or employee pay. They can be paid travel costs and a per diem when they travel for Commission work, at the same rates set for federal agency employees under subchapter I of chapter 57 of title 5. The Treasury Department’s Office of Financial Education must help the Commission if asked, and the Commission does not have to pay for that help. Any federal employee may be temporarily assigned to work for the Commission without payment back to their agency, and that assignment will not interrupt their federal job status or benefits.
