Title 20 › Chapter CHAPTER 79— - STEM-TRAINING GRANT PROGRAM › § 9904
The Director can hire a university, nonprofit, or other qualified group to oversee the program and manage grant money. The group must be able to copy successful programs, give technical and program help, collect and study data, and check that the program meets its goals. If hired, the group must make sure grant sites follow the program, use federal funds only for allowed purposes, and keep clear records. The group must give technical help, collect and analyze data, and give the Director an annual report. That report must cover student progress toward teaching skills and certification, student participation by major and by need, participation by demographic groups, and the school achievement of students taught by program graduates. The group may help review grant applications when asked. The Director must send the annual report to the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee; the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee; the House Science and Technology Committee; and the House Education and Labor Committee.
