The Secretary of Homeland Security, working with the Secretaries of Health and Human Services and Agriculture, must within 180 days of January 4, 2011, and every year after, send to the relevant Congressional committees and post on the DHS website a report about the Food and Agriculture Government Coordinating Council and the Food and Agriculture Sector Coordinating Council. The report must show progress on building public‑private partnerships, sharing security information (including intelligence), improving how federal, state, local, and private preparedness and response plans work together, and ways to protect the economy and public health from animal or plant disease outbreaks, food contamination, and natural disasters that hit agriculture and food.
