Title 21 › Chapter CHAPTER 10— - POULTRY AND POULTRY PRODUCTS INSPECTION › § 467f

Last updated Apr 6, 2026|Official source

Summary

Poultry and poultry products are governed by the rules in this chapter instead of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act when those chapter rules apply. Any enforcement powers the FD&C Act gave before August 18, 1968 still remain in force. An authorized representative of the Secretary of Health and Human Services may detain poultry carcasses, parts, or products that are outside an official plant to enforce the FD&C Act. When using the detainer law in section 467a, the word "Secretary" means the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
