Not later than 6 months after July 9, 2012, and every year after that, the Attorney General must send a report to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce and the Senate Committee on the Judiciary about drug shortages. The report must say how many requests under section 826(h) were received, the average time to review them, how many were granted and denied and the reason for each denial, describe how the DEA and FDA work together to prevent or ease shortages, and list drugs with a controlled substance covered by section 826 when the Secretary says they are in shortage.
