Allows the Secretary of the Treasury to investigate smuggling of controlled substances (defined in section 802), swear witnesses, issue subpoenas, compel attendance, collect evidence, and require records. These powers apply in the U.S. customs area, but no witness must travel more than 100 miles from where served. Witnesses get the same fees and mileage as in U.S. courts. Oaths may be made anywhere under U.S. jurisdiction.
