Title 22 › Chapter CHAPTER 107— - SUDAN DEMOCRATIC TRANSITION, ACCOUNTABILITY, AND FISCAL TRANSPARENCY › § 10009
The Secretary of State must work with the Secretary of the Treasury and the Attorney General to help Sudan get back money and property taken from its people. They must find and follow assets taken by theft, corruption, money laundering, or other illegal means. For assets found, they must work with other countries and international groups to share investigation information, hold and manage the assets, support civil forfeiture cases and help build laws, and help Sudan set up a trustworthy system so recovered assets are used for the Sudanese people. Recovered assets must not be used for partisan politics and must have strong financial controls and oversight.
