Title 22 › Chapter CHAPTER 25— - PROTECTION OF VESSELS ON THE HIGH SEAS AND IN TERRITORIAL WATERS OF FOREIGN COUNTRIES › § 1980b
When the Secretary of State finds that another country has put rules on U.S. fishing boats that the United States thinks break international law, the Secretary must tell the President. The President must then order U.S. agencies to put similar rules on fishing vessels registered to that country. "Fishing vessel" uses the meaning in Title 46, section 2101(12). Congress says any U.S. response should match the foreign conditions.
