The President may assign a federal department or agency to handle U.S. participation in Interama and must have it work with Florida’s Inter‑American Center Authority. Interama is meant to be a permanent international meeting place that supports ongoing cultural, educational, and trade exchanges and that promotes understanding across the Western Hemisphere and stronger ties between the United States and other free nations.
