The law asks the President to tell U.S. representatives at international organizations (for example, the World Bank, IMF, United Nations, and regional development banks) to work so more women can join national economies and hold professional and policy-making jobs, improving women's status. It also asks the President to consider each organization's progress on these policies, under the World Plan of Action of the Decade for Women, when deciding U.S. funding.
