The Secretary must tell Congress, on a timely basis, whenever a U.S. consulate denies a visa for terrorist activity or for foreign-policy reasons. The report must give the person’s name, nationality, and a short factual reason. The Secretary must also send semiannual reports of any visas issued to someone inadmissible for terrorist activity or when no objection was raised, listing name, nationality, issuing post, and a brief factual reason. Reports may be classified to protect intelligence sources and methods. “Appropriate committees” means the House Judiciary and House Foreign Affairs Committees and the Senate Judiciary and Senate Foreign Relations Committees.
