The Secretary must collect, for U.S. citizens who die abroad from nonnatural causes on or after September 30, 2002, the date, place (state/province, city if known), cause and circumstances (including if it was terrorism), and other required info. That data must go into a database and be posted by country on the Consular Affairs site starting three months later, showing deaths since then or for the past three years, and updated at least every six months.
